Rite aid announced the closures in an attempt to offload more than 3.3 million in debt while tackling more than a thousand federal lawsuits alleging it oversupplied opioids. Rite aid, which had filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, is now preparing to shed more than 100 stores nationwide as part of its restructuring efforts.
